Editorial Policies
Authorship, non-Shakespeare, and other bits
The Shakespeare Standard is devoted to Shakespeare-related news on the internet. We encourage individuals and groups to submit news items, comments to news posts and other stories, and to suggest and create features for the site. We’re not entirely shameless, however, so all items and comments submitted to The Shakespeare Standard are subject to our editorial policy, which precludes certain content seen as overt propaganda (such as news bits or comments regarding the so-called “authorship” issue), non-Shakespeare related news coming from a Shakespeare-related source (such as a Shakespeare company puts on a production of the musical Fame, or most anything having to do with The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged) (most of the time), or anything that sounds (or reads) like drivel, conspiracy theory, or attack on a person, production, company, or institution.
Submission of Content
The Shakespeare Standard (TSS) contains several areas and sections where users may submit content such as links, images, files, or even stories. At The Shakespeare Standard, we thrive on news submitted from the community of Shakespeare companies, scholars, artists, and fans.
By submitting content to The Standard, you permit our editors to make necessary changes to format, spelling, grammar, etc., and you permit us to control the post once it is published for its entire cyber-life on The Standard. You also agree that you are an authorized representative of any organization you claim to represent.
All material submitted for publication on the TSS website or its social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, etc.) becomes the property of TSS. Contributors are not compensated for their contributions. All contributions shall be sent with no expectations of compensation (except where otherwise, and expressly noted).
By submitting articles and images to TSS, you are stating that you are the author of the work or have proper permissions to use the work. You are also stating that TSS will be held harmless of any and all actions resulting from copyright infringement which may arise from publishing work or images for which you falsely take credit.
