Great River Shakespeare announces Will’s Opening Weekend

The Great River Shakespeare Festival in Winona, Minnesota has announced plans for a gala opening to its summer season, dubbed Will's Opening Weekend. York students continue festival tradition

Sixth-graders at York Middle School attended the twenty-third annual Shakespeare Festival in York, Maine, on Thursday, June 3.  The festival included period costumes, maypoles, jugglers, music, and an open-fire pig roast.  Student groups also performed scenes from A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Hamlet, Macbeth, and Romeo and Juliet. Shakespeare Center Los Angeles annual summer production cancelled

Oregon Shakespeare ticket sales up 8%

The bad economy has not hurt the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, as the festival's ticket sales have been up 8% so far this year. As the festival opens its outdoor season for the summer, it looks like its 75th season may be its biggest yet.
