A wondrous week of Shakespeare-themed events for the community, in the tradition of a decade of Pittsburgh Shakespeare in the Parks.

CALENDAR OF EVENTS #WOW15PGH

MONDAY, APRIL 20 MID-SPRING REVELS DINNER at Piccolo Forno, Lawrenceville
6:30 pm drinks & appetizers. 7 pm dinner: delicious brick oven pizzas, homemade cannoli.
Chinese Auction with great theater, Shakespearean, jewelry and art items!
Meet and hear featured company membersincluding Ron Siebert, who portarys the title role of KING LEAR in Sept. 2015, and other Shakespeare favorites.
Tickets $65 in advance. Door admission $75.

TUESDAY, APRIL 21 POP-UP SHAKESPEARE, Mellon Square Park, Downtown
12-1 pm Favorite scenes, speeches and poetry from PSIP players and friends, including Unrehearsed Shakespeare Project and Steel City Shakespeare Center.

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 22 BARD’S BIRTHDAY BASH, hosted by Poets Corner
7-9 pm at the historic Calvary United Methodist Church, Allegheny West.
Mrs. Shakespeare hosts the party for Will’s 451st birthday. PSIP players are joined by colleagues from Poor Yorick’s Players, South Park Shakespeare, Unrehearsed Shakespeare Project, Steel City Shakespeare Center, and the Amish Monkeys. Refreshments and birthday cake by Mexican War Sweets. Pay-what-you-will admission.

THURSDAY, APRIL 23 WILL’S 451st BIRTHDAY – Two event-day!
12:15-1 pm SHAKESPEARE STATUE TRIBUTE, Carnegie Music Hall, Forbes Avenue (across from the Cathedral of Learning, Oakland). Mrs. Shakespeare is joined by students and Will’s fans at Pittsburgh’s Shakespeare statue for sonnets, songs and soliloquies and a floral tribute.
5-7 pm SHAKESPEARE HAPPY HOUR, Franktuary, Lawrenceville. Raise a glass with PSIP players and fans. Enjoy a Bard-themed frank and beverage, with portion of proceeds to benefit the 2015 PSIP season.

FRIDAY, APRIL 24 TWITTER PARTY @PghShakespeare #WOW15PGH
7-8 pm at Social at Bakery Square. Join actor-director Jeffrey Chips and fans at Social or join the tweet-fest online!

SATURDAY, APRIL 25 WILL’S SCAVENGER HUNT – Online
Spend the day (or the whole Week of Will) finding fun Shakespearean items, quotes, pictures, references around town, take a picture of your find, and post your picture on PSIP social media (Facebook and Twitter). The fan with the most entries and the fan with the most unusual item win the new PSIP season t-shirt.

SUNDAY, APRIL 26 FACEBOOK TRIVIA CONTEST – Online
From 8 am to 8 pm test your knowledge of Shakespeare and Pittsburgh Shakespeare in the Parks by joining our trivia contest. Play to win an exclusive 2015 show-themed t-shirt, which will go to the person with the most correct answers, submitted the earliest.

MONDAY, APRIL 27 BRING YOUR OWN BARD (BYOB): Shakespeare’s Murders
7:30 pm (doors open at 7 pm), Té Café, Squirrel Hill. Bring your favorite scenes and characters for a bloody good time! BYOB is a monthly, free, reading event.
