Hello and welcome to Shakespeare Foolery of the week.
What a piece of work is Youtube…
I know that I can’t watch Hamlet without a dozen or so lines jumping out at me that have been referenced over and over in pop culture. This video does a great “mash up” of those references, everything from The Addams Family to Clueless to Downton Abbey.
Love’s Labours WINNING
Those in New York City this summer should check out the Public Theater’s Shakespeare in the Park. Not only is it free, but they are offering two very fun shows. First is Comedy of Errors, starring Jesse Tyler Ferguson (of Modern Family fame, but got his start in the Park), and second is a new musical adaptation of Love’s Labours Lost. You can listen to some of the songs on the website here.
Serving Meat Pies at Titus Andronicus?
Well, I guess the RSC is doing it… Doesn’t sound like a terribly appetizing post-show dinner, though. Tamora’s cocktail, however, looks delicious.
This is Real for Me

Have a great weekend!
