On February 16, the Pittsburgh Public Theater presented its showcase of finalists in the annual Shakespeare Monologue and Scene contest. Students from grades four through twelve may enter to compete against other monologues, scenes, or both. Contestants also receive coaching sessions in the months before their main stage performance in front of judges.
The Public Theater includes varying education and outreach programs, including matinee talkbacks, acting, playwriting, and technical theater workshops, and a discount ticket program.
