Boston/Somerville’s Actors’ Shakespeare Project will be kicking off 2011 with “The Winter Festival,” a new and ambitious three play series that strives to engage audiences in magnificent writing, brave storytelling and the exploration of memory. Beginning in early February with Shakespeare’s Cymbeline (February 9-February 20), The Winter Festival continues into late March, extending beyond the world of Shakespeare with The Hotel Nepenthe (February 25-March 6) followed by Living in Exile (March 9-March 20), both written by local artists. Casual and serious fans of theater alike will enjoy this three play tour-de-force, and the festival will truly have something to offer for all in attendance.
The Winter Festival will be housed at a new venue for the Actors’ Shakespeare Project: The Storefront in Davis Square (255 Elm Street), located in Somerville. The festival debuts on February 9th with Cymbeline and concludes on March 20th with the final performance of Living in Exile. There will be only thirteen performances of each play, so buy tickets before it is too late! Remember, The Winter Festival begins this week with Cymbeline!
