This week in weird, wild, and wacky Shakespeare news…

Kill Shakespeare Authors Are at it Again

Back in August, I introduced you to the vast and exciting world of Shakespearean graphic novels, including the violent and wonderful adevnture, Kill Shakespeare. Authors Anthony Del Col and Connor Mccreery are back at work, creating a vast array of new Kill Shakespeare-related products. This includes not only a new graphic novel, Tale of Blood, apparently a new take on the story of Romeo and Juliet, but also a board game. Yes, that’s right, a board game. Words cannot describe the strains of joy that thrill through my geeky, geeky heart. Comic books, Shakespeare, and tabletop gaming, all rolled into a big, delicious package? One thousand times YES.

Long, Long Ago, in a Galaxy Far…

The Shakespeare Standard has mentioned William Shakespeare’s Star Wars a couple of times in the past few months, but we’ll probably be mentioning it even more, because it’s been confirmed: author Ian Doescher has been hired on by publisher Quirk has just announced that they will be publishing two sequels next year. They will be entitled The Empire Striketh Back and The Jedi Doth Return, respectively, and I expect them to be just as hilarious as the first one. Look for them in March and July.

Have You Ever Wanted to See Shakespeare Doing Cocaine?

If you answered “Yes” to this question, then I would recommend you watch the first episode of the amusing and madcap new Youtube series, The Adventures of Shakespeare and Watson: Detectives of Mystery.

Just…don’t watch it at work.

Titus Andronicus Isn’t a Great Listener

To see what I mean, check out this week’s edition of William Shakespeare, WTF?, The Shakespeare Standard’s own Shakespearean webcomic, drawn with small skill but great wit by yours truly.

And with that, I shall say adieu, dear readers. Until next time, keep on fooling.
