The Bardie Awards 2016

The purpose of the Bardie Awards is to acknowledge and offer recognition to outstanding work in all things Shakespeare.

Best Shakespeare-inspired series: Lovely Little Losers, by the The Candle Wasters, a serial retelling of Love’s Labour’s Lost

 

Education

Teacher of the Year: Richard and Anne DiPrima, founders of Young Shakespeare Players (YSP), have inspired generations of young people to fall in love with the works of Shakespeare through their immersive, inclusive program.

Performance

Best Professional Production: Twelfth Night and What You Will, Bedlam, NYC

Best Non-Professional Production: Romeo & Juliet, Pittsfield Shakespeare in the Park, Lenox, MA

From the nominator: Pittsfield Shakespeare in the Park was founded by Enrico Spada, who adapted and directed the production.  Enrico is an amazing Shakespeare advocate and educator.
