This is part of an ongoing series of regional Shakespeare coverage. Kelly Dowling here, with the latest in Shakespeare from the Mid-Atlantic.
Hello everyone, and welcome to the new weekly post that will highlight where YOU can get your Shakespeare fix here in the lovely Mid-Atlantic region!
Just what part of the country constitutes the Mid-Atlantic? Well (according to our friends at Wikipedia), that would be the great states of New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, and everyone’s favorite capital city/non-state, Washington D.C.
“But Kelly…” you ask, “how will you possibly highlight all the wonderful and weird Shakespeare events over such a large area? Is this your highly paying, full-time job?”
To which I answer …no, no, a thousand times NO. 🙁
So that’s where all you Mid-Atlantic readers come in. If there is something happening in your neck of the woods, drop me a line at email@example.com (Subject Line WHERE’S WILL) so I can include it. I really want to cover a wide range of events for ALL BUDGETS produced by any and all types of theatre companies! And just to keep it fun I have decided to institute a points system for bragging rites. In December, one Mid-Atlantic state (or non-state/DC) will be awarded the Kelly Dowling “Most Shakespeare-iest Mid Atlantic State” award. (And don’t despair, little states/non-states/DC! There will be points adjustments related to population for the final tally!)
