As we reach “the end” of the Project, we ask of this play what we’ve asked of just about all the plays: who wrote The Tempest?

Well, not to put too sarcastic a point on this:

William Shakespeare.

This is the last–chronologically speaking–of the purely Shakespeare plays. The plays that follow, from Cardenio to All is True (or Henry VIII) to The Two Noble Kinsmen, are all collaborations with John Fletcher, with the majority of the heavy lifting done by the younger playwright.

I’ll probably get around to reading these someday… just not now.

For now and The Tempest, ol’ Willy’s our guy.
