The Young Shakespeare Players (YSP) is a children’s theater program in which the children provide the theater. The program, in which young people perform full-length works of Shakespeare, is now over 25 years old, older than our actors who range in age from 7 to 18 years old. There are no “auditions.” Any child of approximately the right age may take part simply by registering. Every young participant receives one or more speaking roles.

In addition to Othello, young actors are rehearsing Much Ado About Nothing for October and the Adult Shakespeare Circle Workshop is preparing for a November performance.

The YSP also offer Brief, Focused Workshops on Monday and Thursday evenings.

Visit the program website here.

I am Desdemona in Othello – and our performances only started this Wednesday! I performed last night and it was a fantastic night – so much fun! Anybody in the YSP area should come to a performance. It’s free! 🙂

I saw the Othello performance the other night and I was curious on who played the old man with blue pants that had yellow stars covering it. That person was really good ^0^
